Video-debate: Towards a Degrowth Society
The COVID-19 pandemic urges to develop a new economy – one that can do without incessant growth, one that generates human well-being without the destruction of our ecosystems. This video-debate discusses what a future without economic growth would look like. Four scholars from the Dutch degrowth network (ontgroei.nl) shared their knowledge and answer questions on the pathway to a society that is emancipated from market competition and the exploitation of both people and resources.
Introducing the four panelists:
1) Federico Savini, University of Amsterdam, Environmental Planning, Institutions and Politics
2) Miriam Meissner, Maastricht University, Urban Studies
3) Crelis Rammelt, University of Amsterdam, Geography and International Development
4) Martin Calisto Friant, Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Faculty of Geosciences, Utrecht University.

We are all looking forwards to continuing the conversation between the two movements.
